Igloo is operated by Mohammed Husnain, based in the United Kingdom. The app is currently pending incorporation under the name Igloo Ltd

What We Collect

We collect and process the following information:
• Your university email address for sign-up and access control
• Public posts made to the university feed, including hashtags and course/module tags
• Cred scores, a non-personal indicator of reputation based on community upvotes
• Reports and blocks, to maintain a safe and respectful environment
• Firebase Analytics data for understanding app usage trends (aggregated and non- personal)

We do not collect:
• Date of birth
• IP addresses
• Direct message content
• Usage logs tied to identity

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:
• Authenticate and verify your access with your .ac.uk university email
• Deliver content to the correct university feed
• Moderate and review content that is reported
• Display Cred scores and leaderboards
• Analyse usage trends to improve the app using Firebase Analytics
• Send push notifications relevant to your campus or posts We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Anonymity and Privacy

Although posts are anonymous to other users, they are associated with your account for moderation and safety purposes. Your email is never displayed to other users.

Data Storage and Security

Data is stored securely using Firebase infrastructure, including:
• Firebase Authentication
• Firestore Database
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Cloud Messaging
We take reasonable steps to secure your information and limit access to only necessary personnel.

User Control and Data Requests

You may request deletion of your data or access to what we store by contacting us through the email link provided in the app.

Age Restrictions

You must be at least 17 years old to use Igloo. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.
